Prominent Roofing (PTY) Ltd proudly utilizes the 4mm and 3mm Thermoflex torch-on system, supplied by Darachem Industrial Supplies (STT). Thermoflex, developed specifically for South African conditions and in production since 1982, is designed to withstand the extreme weather of the highveld. The product has been extensively evaluated with assistance from the CSIR.
Thermoflex features a 180-gram, heat-set, double-reinforced polyester geofabric, manufactured in an ISO 9000-certified plant. The core of the product is infused with S.A.B.S.-certified bitumen modified with A.P.P. (atactic polypropylene) and other elements, enhancing flexibility and UV resistance.
The weather-resistant surface is treated with inert silica, ensuring excellent adhesion for topcoats when aesthetics are needed. The underside is coated with a heat-sensitive polymer film that melts at the proper temperature during installation.
To maximize longevity, a torch-on system should be regularly maintained with a silver aluminium paint coat to protect it from UV damage. With proper upkeep, Thermoflex offers reliable performance for many years. This system is installed using heat fusion by trained professionals.
